Last Wednesday I worked a ten hour shift, and I was in a really bad mood when I got off work. So I did what I always do when I have a bad day- go to Target to purchase a Betty Crocker Warm Delights microwaveable dessert and then head to the Redbox DVD booth at McDonald’s to rent a movie. What I wanted was just an escape from the bad night I had, what I got was one of the best movies I had seen in a long time. The movie I rented was called “For One More Day” based on the Mitch Albom (Tuesdays With Morrie, The Five People You Meet In Heaven, etc.) book. In the movie, the main character finds his life in shambles- the ‘icing on the cake’ being that he just found out he wasn’t even invited to his own daughter’s wedding. When he decides to take his own life, he is suddenly and strangely confronted with the site of his mother who has been dead for nine years. They spend one more day together, and she helps him make sense of his life.
It is a great family movie- we all watched it together the following night after I had watched it- and it has a a really great message and that is simply: Never take for granted the ones you love, and let them know how you feel about them.
As I am getting ready to leave for college in August, I’ve been thinking about how much I enjoy spending time with my family and how much I’ll miss the close contact I have with them now. And you know, I never want to take for granted the unique bond that we all share, nor do I want any of my family members to have to question in their minds how I feel about them. Everyday with my family is truly a gift from God, and I am learning more and more to treat it as just that

My dog Titus, doesn’t know he is a dog, went with my husband and I to Chick-fil-a. At the drive through window Titus jumped in Matthew’s lap and was trying to get inside the window!
And you wonder why he was doing that! One of the ladies was trying to give him a little bone.
When did ya’ll start serving dog bones on the menu?
It’s a new feature we’re trying out haha. Funny story.
The next time Titus comes by, he wants extra cheese on his bone and a couple of pickles. And No mustard:0)
