Well we know that a vast majority of the mainstream media is in the tank for Barack Obama- no surprise there. In fact, the Pew Research Center’s “Project for Excellence in Journalism” released a report indicating that coverage of John McCain is twice as negative as that of Barack Obama. We also know that Barack Obama, although hailed by some as one of the most accomplished speakers of our time, struggles when speaking off of the teleprompter. In fact the last time he attempted a “town-hall” style Q & A format at one of his rallies he made the infamous “lipstick on a pig” remark, which derailed his campaign for several days. And then there was a rally in Bristol, VA when, once again attempting to speak off the teleprompter, he states, “Everybody knows that it makes no sense that you send a kid to the emergency room for a treatable illness like asthma, they end up taking up a hospital bed, it costs, when, if you, if they- just gave them treatment early. And they got some treatment, and uh- a breathalyzer. Or uh, an inhalator. . . . I haven’t had much sleep in the last 48 hours.” That was an exact quote- ah, such eloquence. Oh, or how about the time he said he’d campaign in 57 states! VERY impressive, considering that last time I checked there were only fifty. So, as a result he’s been taking that ole’ teleprompter everywhere- including the rodeo. Yes, my friends- Barack Obama spoke in a rodeo ring . . . with a teleprompter.
But what happens when somebody in the media that doesn’t buy everything Obama is selling- someone unlike MSNBC’s Chris Matthews who said he gets a “thrill up my leg” every time Obama speaks (give me a break!)- what happens when they ask Obama, or his running mate the tough questions? The answer: They get shut out!
Senator McCain has been taking the tough questions from all angles. He was bombarded with them in his appearance on “The View” where Barbara Walters desperately tried- to no avail- to corner McCain on his pick of Sarah Palin as a running mate. When McCain talked about how her first executive act was to sell the Governor’s private yet, Barbara exclaimed- “She sold it at a loss!” In contrast, when Obama made his appearance on the view Barbara gushed, “We think you’re very sexy!” Great objectivity Babs!
When ABC’s Charlie Gibson interviewed Governor Sarah Palin, Gibson asked questions such as “Do you have enough qualifications for the job you’re seeking?” and later showed an out of context YouTube video from a church service Palin attended and asked “Is America fighting a holy war’?’, additionally his very demeanor was that of pure contempt for this woman- either that, or he was constipated. Once again- compare this to his interview with Barack Obama where he asks softball questions such as, “How does it feel to break a glass ceiling?” and “Who will be your VP?”
But WFTV’s Barbara West decided that someone needed to finally ask the Obama campaign some tough questions, and she did just that in her October 23rd interview with Obama’s VP nominee Joe Biden. She brought up those topics that apparently we’re not supposed to talk about- ACORN, his redistribution of wealth policies, etc. Biden was clearly caught off guard and at one point asked West, “are you joking?” Well after Biden muddled his way through the interview the Obama campaign cut off all communication with WFTV saying, “This cancellation is non-negotiable, and further opportunities for your station to interview with this campaign are unlikely, at best for the duration of the remaining days until the election.”
And then of course there’s Joe Wurzelbacher a.k.a “Joe the Plumber”- who accomplished what no one else could, and that was getting Obama to say exactly what his economic policy was. Now we know, and it smells like socialism to me, and to many others- and Barack Obama’s response to his own remarks is to smear Joe the plumber, telling a crowd of supporters “A plumber is the guy he’s fighting for.”
And then there was the news today that the Obama campaign has booted reporters from The Washington Times, The New York Post, and the Dallas Morning News off their campaign plane. What do these newspapers all have in common? They endorsed McCain. Can you imagine if the McCain campaign severed ties with everyone in the media that supported Obama?
The next President of our country will have to face a host of tough issues, and it begs the question- How can you deal with two wars, an economic crisis, healthcare, global warming, a volatile stock market, an ever increasing national debt, national security, and an array of other pressing matters, if you can’t address those tough questions that people NEED to be asking. You can’t.
Barack Obama’s campaign couldn’t handle Barbara West, but we think we can trust him to deal with Vladimir Putin and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad? Think again America.
I saw that interview with Biden and West. I laughed soooo hard when he said “Are you joking!??!” He said that when she quoted Karl Marx and the quote was exactly what Obama is proposing! I was like “WAKE UP AMERICA!!!!!” I was so proud of her for asking that question!!!!! It makes me sick that Obama doesn’t want to even try to tackle those questions!!!!! It’s not fair! It’s dirty politics….Obama is a dirty politician!!!! You don’t see McCain running from interviews with people like Barbara Walters….If I could I would make every American voting Obama sit down and watch an interview between West and Obama. I think that would change alot of voters opinions….alas, Obama won’t give America that chance.
I LOVE YOU!!!
You are so eloquent.
And I have to say something about the asthma thing being that my child has “occupied a bed” at Hendersonville Hospital as well as a bed in an ambulance on our way to “occupy a bed” at Vanderbilt because her “treatable illness” wasn’t responding to the “breathalyzer” or “inhalator” or whatever other word he wants to butcher. (and they make fun of W!???) When he’s rushed to the hospital with his impending emphysema, does he really want them to tell him he can’t occupy a bed because his disease is asthma-esque and treatable???
